Community Organizations

There are some situations where a need in the community cannot be fulfilled by any of our programs. There are multiple organizations within Greene County and the surrounding communities which may be able to offer help in areas where we cannot. Please feel free to contact our office with any questions you may have. If we are unable to help we may refer you to one of the following agencies.

Housing Needs

Greene Metropolitan Housing Authority: Provides housing assistance through agency-owned units, managed units, and Section 8 Program.

American Red Cross: Provides temporary shelter, emergency housing, self-sufficiency programming, weekly case management, and assistance with locating permanent housing.

Community Action Partnership: Provides first month's rent, rental assistance to prevent eviction, Workready, home-delivered meals, transitional housing, and Emergency Assistance (EHEAP).

Housing Solutions of Greene County, Inc.: Provides rental assistance, property management, tenant-landlord liaison support, rental search and dispute resolution services.
You must have a referral from TCN to be eligible for these services.

Homecroft, Inc.: Acts as landlord renting single-family residences to Greene County citizens with mental and developmental disabilities.
You must be eligible for services under the Greene County Development Disabilities Services (formerly MRDD) to receive these services.

Interfaith Hospitality Network: Administers a homeless shelter that can help if you are an adult at least 21 years of age, a nucleus family, a single female with no children, a single female with children, or a single male with children. Parents must be able to prove custody of children.

Personal Well-Being

TCN Behavioral Health Services: Provides behavioral health and substance abuse services to Greene County citizens, insured and uninsured, regardless of ability to pay.

Women's Recovery Center: Provides drug and alcohol rehabilitation for women at least 18 years of age who have a diagnosed chemical dependency and who have failed at less restrictive levels of care or have mental health issues.

Greene County Council on Aging: Provides information and assistance, in-home assessment of needs, care planning, help setting up services, sometimes payment for services, minor home modifications, durable medical equipment (for loan), assistance with insurance and benefit issues, and caregiver education and support.

Family Violence Prevention Center of Greene County: Provides shelter services to residents of Greene and Clinton Counties who are victims of domestic violence.
You must have a referral from law enforcement, a human service agency, the legal system, or the school system to be eligible for shelter services.

Legal Matters

Legal Aid of Western Ohio: Provides free legal services of a civil nature to persons of low to moderate income in Greene, Montgomery, Darke, and Preble Counties.
