Community Development

The Greene County Department of Development's Community Development Division builds stronger communities within our county by administering programs which make infrastructure improvements and repairs and assist homeowners with residential repairs. Our programs, which include sidewalk and street rehabilitation, fire hydrant and water line replacement, window and roof replacement, and plumbing and electrical repairs, help to improve housing stock and stabilize neighborhoods.

Our Fair Housing specialist works with tenants and landlords to resolve issues relating to their rights and responsibilities, and provides education about Fair Housing and discrimination laws.
Our department provides financial counseling and education to residents of Greene County and surrounding counties.

The Community Development Division works hand-in-hand with our Economic Development specialists to maintain Greene County, Ohio's tradition as a great place to live and work.

Many projects funded by the Department of Development are awarded to contractors through a competitive bid process. New Requests for Proposals and Bid Opportunities are announced by public notice in local newspapers, and can also be found on the Greene County web site.
