  1. Where do I find birth and death records for the years 1909- present?

 The Greene County Combined Health District maintains all birth and death records, 1909- present. 

  1. How do I obtain a certified copy of my marriage record?

Certified copies of marriage certificates may either be requested by mail or in person. For marriages from 2009 to the present, please write or visit the Greene County Probate Court.  For marriages prior to 2009, please write or visit the Greene County Records Center and Archives. The cost of a certified copy is $2.00, cash or money order.  If requesting by mail, please enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope.

  1. Where do I get a copy of my divorce decree?

The Greene County Clerk of Courts Office maintains all divorce decrees. 

  1. Where do I find will and estate records?

The Greene County Probate Court maintains all will and estate records for the years 1998 - present. 

All will and estate records prior to 1998 are maintained by The Greene County Records Center and Archives.

  1. Where do I find deed records?

The Greene County Recorder's Office maintains all deed records from 1865 to the present.  The Greene County Records Center and Archives maintains all deed records from 1804 to 1864.  

  1. How do I get a copy of my military discharge record (Form DD214)?

The Greene County Recorder's Office maintains all military discharge records filed with the county.   

  1. Is there a way I can search online for Greene County court cases?

Greene County Common Pleas Court cases back to 1982 to the present can be searched online through The Greene County Clerk of Court’s Court View database.

  1. How do I request a background check?

To request a background check, please contact Greene County Sheriff's Office
