Information About Mediation for Parents Referred by Greene County Courts
Mediation is a way for parents to resolve conflict regarding custody and visitation issues during and after divorce proceedings or when the parties separate.
The Family and Children First Department accepts referrals for mediation from the Greene County Domestic Relations and Juvenile Courts.
The court can refer a case for mediation or a party or attorney may request mediation by filing a motion in court. In mediation, both parties make an honest effort to resolve their issues with the help of an impartial third person (mediator). The mediation can continue for more than one session. Once the mediation process is complete, the parties’ attorneys will have the opportunity to review the agreement.
Mediation sessions take place at:
143 E. Market St.
